Real Stories. Real Healing.

“I used to rely on others to feel safe. Now I know I can take care of myself.”

Brinley shares how ketamine therapy helped her heal from lifelong anxiety and trauma—and gave her the breakthrough she’d been missing in talk therapy.

Brinley:
I grew up in a really abusive environment as a child and kind of had a lot of anxiety and depression through different stages of life. Interactions with people would be kind of difficult. I would feel really nervous a lot. I would feel anxious.

“Anxiety and depression have been something that I’ve dealt with my whole life.”

So when I moved out here, I was hoping to find a place where I could get my maintenance infusions.

And what drew me to Northwest Ketamine was just really the level of attention and care that I felt from the start—from the first consultation call. Explaining what the room was like and what the chair was like… the little details were really important to me.

I wanted to make sure I’d be comfortable during the infusion, and that I would know how to plan my day around the appointment. I wanted it to feel similar to where I was before—because I’d had a really good experience with my prior care provider.

“The little details were really important to me—what the room was like, what the chair was like…”

My biggest surprise was that after the appointment, I was able to function as a normal person.
Before, with the muscular treatment, it took a few hours to come down and recalibrate and get back to reality. But with the infusion, it was a lot easier for me to go back home and feel like I was back to my normal self.

The way I feel now, compared to the way I felt before I started ketamine therapy, is a lot more confident in myself. A lot more secure—not only in who I am as a person, but in my relationships.

“After ketamine, I realized I had all those tools within myself.”

Before, I was really relying on other people to validate me. To give me that feeling of safety or security.
But after ketamine, I realized I had all those tools within myself.

If somebody’s watching this and they’re feeling like maybe they’re stuck in therapy—like I was feeling—I would encourage them to look into ketamine therapy, because for me, it was really the breakthrough I needed.

“I have that knowledge now that I’m always safe… and that I can always take care of myself.”
