Brandon:
I have ADHD. I found that the internal monolog in my brain would not shut up. Going to sleep was challenging. Getting my brain to turn off was challenging. Just kind of getting through every day was a bit challenging.

You know that experience when you throw a punch in a dream and you’re like, moving through jello? It was like that. It was like I was constantly wearing ankle and wrist weights—like everything was a little too hard, a little too much resistance.

“Everything was a little too hard, a little too much resistance… and that just kind of evaporated after the first few sessions of ketamine.”

That just kind of evaporated after the first few sessions of ketamine. That voice had grown quieter. Going to sleep became a little bit easier. Living in my brain became a little bit easier.

“Living in my brain became a little bit easier.”

It was noticeable. People remarked on it pretty quickly. I had done maybe two sessions, three sessions, and people started going, Oh, damn. What are you doing differently? You look awesome. You just look like your skin is healthier, and you look happier.

“People started going, ‘Oh, damn. What are you doing differently?’”

Overwhelming advice for anyone going in: pick the music carefully. Musical choice is hugely important. Go in with a clear mind, not planning anything for the rest of the day.

To anyone on the fence or thinking about giving it a try—depression, ADHD, intermittent explosive disorder, bipolar—any of those things feel like they would vastly benefit from it.

It’s not easy. It might be a little scary, especially if you’re not experienced in that realm. But it is worth it. And I think you’ll see that in pretty short order.

So go for it. That’s what I said.
