Hormone Replacement Therapy, explained.
HRT is a clinical approach to identifying and addressing hormone imbalances that affect mood, energy, sleep, body composition, and overall vitality. We do not currently offer HRT at Northwest Healing & Wellness, this page exists so patients can understand what HRT is, who it tends to help, and what we offer today.

Hormone Replacement Therapy is a medically supervised program in which estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid, or related hormones are supplemented to bring levels back into a range associated with healthy function. Plans are guided by symptoms, family history, and laboratory testing rather than by averages.
Personalized, not standardized
A well-run HRT program starts with detailed labs and a thorough history. Dose, route, and combination are matched to the individual, not a default protocol.
Bio-identical or synthetic
Both options exist. Bio-identical hormones are chemically identical to those the body produces; synthetic forms have a longer track record in some indications. Good providers discuss tradeoffs.
Monitored over time
Hormones are not set-and-forget. Programs include scheduled lab work, symptom check-ins, and adjustment over months to find the right ongoing dose.
Labs first, symptoms always, dose last.
The best HRT care looks more like internal medicine than a wellness trend. Pace and personalization matter more than how quickly you start.
Intake and labs
A long first visit reviews medical history, family history, current medications, and goals. Comprehensive bloodwork establishes a baseline.
Personalized plan
If HRT is appropriate, a regimen is built around the lowest effective doses. Route (oral, transdermal, pellet, injection) is matched to lifestyle and goals.
Adjust and monitor
Repeat labs and check-ins, often at 6 to 12 weeks, then less frequently. The goal is steady symptom relief on the smallest dose that holds.
Common reasons patients consider HRT.
HRT is not a fit for everyone, and it is not a treatment for mental health conditions on its own. It is one tool among many. People considering it usually fall into a few groups:
Perimenopause and menopause
Symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, vaginal dryness, and bone density concerns are common reasons.
Low testosterone in men (andropause)
Fatigue, low libido, mood changes, loss of muscle mass, and changes in body composition can prompt a clinical evaluation for low testosterone.
Thyroid imbalances
Under- or over-active thyroid affects energy, mood, weight, and cognition. Thyroid care is closely related to broader hormone-replacement programs.
Whole-body wellness alongside mental-health treatment
Sleep, energy, and metabolism interact with depression and anxiety. For some patients, addressing a hormone imbalance is what makes mental-health treatment work.
How an HRT Wellness Track will work.
When HRT launches, it will be offered to NWKC patients through our partnership with Northwest Healing & Wellness (NWHW), as a single bundled monthly track, not à la carte. Pricing is being finalized; this is a preview of what will be included so you can see how the program fits together.
HRT prescription & dosing
Bio-identical or synthetic hormone therapy at the lowest effective dose, adjusted over time to match your labs and how you feel.
Targeted testing
Baseline and follow-up bloodwork, hormone panels, and any additional labs needed to personalize the program.
Foundational supplements
Practitioner-grade Vitamin D, Omega-3, and Calcium included, supporting bone, brain, and cardiovascular health alongside therapy.
Monthly check-in calls
A scheduled call each month with your provider to review symptoms, adjust dose if needed, and answer questions, no extra visit fee.
Two layers, not one.
Hormone care and mental health care are related, but they are not substitutes. If symptoms have both a mood and a physical signature, both layers usually deserve attention.
HRT, answered honestly.
Do you offer HRT at NWKC or NWHW?
No. Hormone Replacement Therapy is not currently part of our service menu at Northwest Ketamine Clinics or Northwest Healing & Wellness. This page is informational. Patients interested in HRT today should look for a provider who specializes in hormone or functional medicine, ideally one who is comfortable coordinating with mental health care.
Is HRT safe?
Hormone Replacement Therapy can be safe and effective when guided by a knowledgeable clinician using individualized dosing and ongoing monitoring. Like any prescription therapy, it has risks and contraindications, and certain personal and family histories may make HRT a poor fit. A real evaluation, with labs, is essential.
Is HRT a treatment for depression or anxiety?
No, not on its own. Some patients find that addressing a hormone imbalance improves sleep, energy, and mood, which makes mental health treatment work better. But HRT is not a substitute for evidence-based depression or anxiety care.
What is the difference between bio-identical and synthetic hormones?
Bio-identical hormones are chemically identical to the hormones the body produces. Synthetic hormones, such as some older oral estrogens or progestins, have a longer track record in certain indications. Both can be appropriate, the choice depends on the patient, the indication, and the prescribing clinician.
