How it worksKAP: A Groundbreaking Mental Health TreatmentWhen you enter the clinic, a transformative experience towards mental wellness begins.
Medically supervised Ketamine infusion therapy is a proven, reliable, and powerful alternative treatment for people suffering from symptoms of mood disorders, mental illness, and neuropathic pain.
During the 40-50 minute psychedelic experience, patients may have personal breakthroughs with long-lasting mental health benefits.
More importantly, Ketamine helps release brain-derived growth hormones which cause the brain to quickly grow new connections and form healthier pathways.
Our clinic’s evidence-based KAP approach blends low-dose Ketamine infusion treatments with talk therapy, helping patients integrate their Ketamine experiences after treatment.
If traditional treatments like medication and therapy aren’t providing the level of symptom relief you’re seeking, KAP may be the solution you’ve been looking for. For a limited time get $300 off your Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

FaqsFrequently Asked Questions About KAP
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?
Ketamine Assisted-Psychotherapy is our most involved program, designed to help you work through challenging life issues and deep-rooted trauma. During the 2 to 3 week program, you’ll receive an in-depth intake and preparation session to focus on your symptoms and treatment goals, six Ketamine infusions, and six therapy sessions with a licensed mental health counselor trained in psychedelic therapy. This unique and highly effective treatment program unites the psychedelic and neurodegenerative effects of ketamine with integration therapy designed around your specific challenges and goals. KAP is especially effective for PTSD and healing past trauma.
What are the benefits of Ketamine?
Having given over 35,000 infusions, we have the experience to maximize the benefits of this remarkable medication. At NWKC, an astounding 96% of our patients report noticeable improvement, and over 80% report having their symptoms cut in half or even greater. Many even experience full resolution of their symptoms.
The onset of this relief typically comes within hours or days of treatment (not weeks, as with other medications). Patients frequently describe improvements in their ability to feel and function more normally, even before other symptoms are resolved.
These effects typically last for several weeks, although some patients report experiencing complete relief of depressed symptoms for extended periods. Our programs include six infusions (for mood) or four infusions (for pain). Maintenance infusions are on an individual schedule but typically involve a single infusion every 6-12 weeks. After a maintenance schedule is established, most patients are able to maintain positive results long-term.
Is KAP safe?
Yes, Ketamine is an FDA approved anesthetic that has shown incredible promise as a groundbreaking treatment for mental health and chronic pain; with some studies showing it as the gold-standard in rapid symptom relief. Each infusion takes place in one of our safe, comfortable, and relaxing private treatment rooms. Infusions are administered by a Registered Nurse (RN). You’ll also be supervised and guided through your experience by an experienced, board-certified Nurse Practitioner. During the psychedelic state you will be supported and guided through every step, and our trained staff are available to provide trauma-informed care and other special accommodations at any time.
What happens during a Ketamine infusion treatments?
While each patient may have a slightly different experience, most treatments are quite similar. Our staff will coach you through setting intentions and mindset work before each treatment. During your Ketamine infusion treatment, a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) will carefully start the ketamine IV. During the treatment, your pulse, oxygen levels, and blood pressure will be monitored by a medical professional. Ketamine, an FDA-approved dissociative anesthetic, will cause you to enter a relaxing and pleasurable psychedelic state, during which you may experience personal breakthroughs, epiphanies, and other positive results. Some patients report feeling nauseous, which is common with anesthesia, in which case our medical staff can provide an anti-nausea medicine. We encourage dialogue and responsiveness during the experience, and one of our highly-trained board-certified Nurse Practitioners will be there to support and guide you through the entire journey.
Many patients report experiencing bliss, joy, and delight during treatment. The psychedelic state often causes laughter, smiling, and a sense of overall wellness. Ketamine treatment is a positive experience with long-lasting, evidence-based results.
What happens during the therapy sessions, and when do they occur?
1-2 days after each Ketamine infusion, you’ll have a 1-1 video therapy session with a licensed Psychotherapist. Your therapist will provide professional support and guidance during each step in the treatment journey. These robust integration sessions with a licensed psychotherapist allow you to reframe thought patterns, perspectives, and beliefs so you can move forward and help cement positive frameworks.
Do you accept insurance or have payment plans?
We are out of network with insurance carriers but we are happy to check your out-of-network benefits and provide a rough estimate of any reimbursement you could qualify for.
We proudly offer Care Credit with low monthly payments including 6 months same as cash/ deferred interest for those who qualify. Pricing for KAP starts *as low as $122 per month. Disclaimer: *As low as payments are calculated on a 60-month low APR payment plan with CareCredit; of which we are a preferred provider. Subject to credit approval.
Do I need a referral?
We strive to remove barriers and make the process of starting your ketamine treatment simple and painless. At Northwest Ketamine Clinics, we only require an upfront referral for patients under 18 years of age.
When you are ready to begin treatment, the next step is to schedule a free 30-minute intake call with our intake team. They will be able to answer any questions regarding out treatment options, pricing, insurance, and scheduling availability. This also provides time for any questions you may hve about treatment. From that call, you will be scheduled for a free medical consultation call with one of our highly experienced Nurse Practitioners who will review your health history and confirm that you are a good candidate. At this time, we only treat “treatment-resistant” conditions, so, while referral is not necessary a previous diagnosis is required. Make an appointment to talk with one of our experienced nurse practitioners for more information
Is therapy important during Ketamine treatment?
While ketamine is a powerful medication on its own, we recommend engaging in therapy or psychedelic integration sessions during your treatment, especially alongside your first few treatments. This allows you to make sense of the ketamine experience and gain a deeper understanding of the process of psychedelic healing.
At NWKC we have many options available including our robust Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) program, individual integration sessions with experienced therapists. Virtual or in-person options are available. Our internal data shows that, even though ketamine infusions without therapy or integration sessions are extremely effective, outcomes are even greater when therapy is added.
We believe in your ability to choose the best treatment for you. We seek to guide you and help you with that choice, rather than push you into a program that may not work for your needs or your life. Our intake team and nurse practitioners can provide education and help guide you to the program that fits your needs best, then prescribe a treatment plan for you. Regardless of the path you choose, our standard ketamine treatment, our full Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy program, or some level in between, your chances of a successful outcome are excellent.
Are there risks associated with Ketamine treatments?
When administered by skilled hands, ketamine is an extremely safe medication. Short-term side effects may include small increases in blood pressure, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, and visual misperceptions. These can typically be resolved with medication during the treatment session.
Research over a span of over 20 years has not shown any significant long-term side effects from repeated ketamine infusions, even from higher doses used in Complex Regional Pain Syndromes (CRPS) and with other pain conditions.
